Vor rund einem Monat haben wir über das Oster-Update mit den neuen Features für SharePoint und die Anbindung an Azure Active Directory (AAD) - inkl. Rückblick aufs Q1 - berichtet.
Neue Identity-Plattform
Docugate speichert keine eigenen Login-Informationen (sog. "Credentials", Benutzernamen und Passwörter), sondern setzt hierzu auf Produkte von etablierten Drittherstellern. Bisher war dies der Open-Source IdentityServer4. Der Entwickler/Hersteller Duende hat entschieden, die neue Version 5 nicht mehr als "free open source" für kommerzielle Projekte freizugeben. Aus diesem Grund haben wir zu ZITADEL - einem Schweizer Produkt - gewechselt. Aufgrund dieser technischen Umstellungen müssen sich die Benutzer neu einloggen und ggf. die Berechtigung für Docugate erteilen, können dies aber wie bisher gewohnt über ihren Microsoft-Account tun. Falls sie die Docugate API nutzen, müssen sie ihre Apps auf die V2 der API-Endpunkte aktualisieren.
LaTeX-Dokumente für komplexe Anforderungen
Wie Sie wissen setzen wir auf die weit herum bekannten und einfach nutzbaren Office-Vorlagen. Sollen Sie jedoch komplexere Ansprüche an ihre Dokumente und Formulare haben, sind LaTeX-Vorlagen womöglich etwas für Sie. LaTeX ist vorallem in der Wissenschaft als häufig genutztes Dokumentationswerkzeug bekannt. Mehr dazu erfahren Sie auf Wikipedia. Eine Bank aus unserem Kundenstamm nutzt LaTex beispielsweise dazu, um mehrfache, umfangreiche und dynamische Tabellen zu drucken oder Bilder und Charts als Zusammenfassung eines Beratungsgesprächs in PDF-Form zu produzieren.
Übersetzungen angepasst
Neu werden Metadaten wie z.B. der Name oder die Beschreibung der Vorlage nicht mehr automatisch übersetzt. Dadurch ist es für die Mitarbeitenden einfacher zu erkennen, in welcher Sprache die Vorlage gestaltet ist. Name und Beschreibung werden so angezeigt, wie sie vom Administrator vorgegeben wurden, und nicht in die Sprache des Browsers/Benutzers übersetzt.

Docugate does not store its own login information (so-called "credentials", user names and passwords), but relies on products from established third-party manufacturers for this purpose. Until now, this was the open-source IdentityServer4. The developer/manufacturer Duende has decided to no longer release the new version 5 as "free open source" for commercial projects. For this reason, we have switched to ZITADEL - a Swiss product. Due to these technical changes, users will have to log in again and, if necessary, grant permission for Docugate, but they can do this as usual via their Microsoft account. If you use the Docugate API, you will need to update your apps to V2 of the API endpoints.
LaTeX documents for complex requirements
As you know, we rely on the widely known and easy-to-use Office templates. However, if you have more complex requirements for your documents and forms, LaTeX templates might be something for you. LaTeX is known as a frequently used documentation tool, especially in science. You can read more about it on Wikipedia. For example, one of our clients uses LaTeX to print multiple, extensive and dynamic tables or to produce images and charts as a summary of a consultation in PDF form.
Translations adapted
Metadata such as the name or description of the template is no longer translated automatically. This makes it easier for employees to see in which language the template is designed. The name and description are displayed as specified by the administrator and are not translated into the language of the browser/user.
